VOLUNTEERS

The Maria Gruber Foundation owes a debt of gratitude to the volunteers who generously donate their time towards our mission to improve the lives of people affected by cancer. We pride ourselves in creating a fun, diverse and unique environment for our team of talented and dedicated volunteers in our Los Angeles, California, headquarters and beyond. Space is limited, but we always welcome inquiries.

Volunteer at our headquarters

If you’d like to volunteer at our headquarters in Los Angeles, California, please fill out our online application. We need volunteers for a variety of roles. Many of our volunteers work directly with families affected by cancer:

• Assisting in hospital rooms (and sometimes at the bedside)
• Assisting at home
• Shop for groceries or run errands
• Cooking
• Help with funeral arrangements
• Stay in his or her home to take phone calls and receive guests
• Help with insurance forms or bills
• Take care of housework, such as cleaning or laundry
• Watch his or her children or pick them up from school
• Drive him or her wherever he or she needs to go
• Look after his or her pets
• Go with them to a support group meeting
• Accompany them on a walk
• Take them to lunch or a movie
• Share an enjoyable activity (game, puzzle, art project)

The Maria Gruber Foundation Leader Program

The Maria Gruber Foundation Leader Program engages volunteers around the world to help support our mission. Within their local communities, Leaders promote The Maria Gruber Foundation’s programs, resources, policy and advocacy work, and fundraise on our behalf.
